The screenshot and the live record disagree

Editorial composite. This alias and dialogue are rewritten from recurring evidence questions. They do not identify a community member or reproduce a private conversation.

A screenshot may preserve wording that has since changed, while the live page shows the current claim. Neither record should silently erase the other.

The careful approach is a short timeline: what the archived image showed, when it was captured, what the live page shows now, and the date of the new observation. If capture context is missing, say that too. The disagreement may document a correction, an update, or an incomplete archive.

The capture date should not be inferred from the filename alone. If the page itself shows a publication date, preserve that separately from the time the screenshot was made.

A changed claim is not automatically evidence of bad intent. The timeline can document the wording change without guessing why it happened.
